Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com San Francisco’s first Chinese-American acting mayor, Edwin Lee, has announced that he would run for mayor. Not long before, five mayoral candidates jointly called for an investigation of Lee’s election campaign organization. There is evidence the organization is raising illegal funds. Sources point out the organization’s fund-raising person and promoter, Rose Pak is a close friend of former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Jiang Zemin. She is the consultant of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) in San Francisco. On August 8, Lee submitted electoral documents, announcing his intention to run for San Francisco’s mayor. In January 2011, former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom was promoted to California Lieutenant Governor. After promising not to run for next election and three rounds of voting, Lee became the acting mayor of San Francisco. Being in office for more than six months as acting mayor, now he showed interest to run for the next elected mayor. Hong Kong’s Oriental Daily reported that Lee’s actions made some voters unhappy, accusing him of eating his own words. Faced with local media’s questions, Lee explained that his work results were all positive, so he simply changed his mind. Former counselor Tony Hall pointed out that Lee’s old friend Rose Pak has her own corrupt gang in the local government. In the past 20 years, the gang has been undermining San Francisco’s real …

The blame game has continued among US political parties after the country’s loss of its triple-A credit rating. Standard and Poor’s decision to reduce it down to AA+ has highlighted the polarised nature of American politics. Democrats say the conservative Tea Party movement is responsible, Republicans say the downgrade is an indictment of President Obama’s leadership. Either way common ground will have to be found to solve the country’s debt problem. … www.euronews.net

Are corporate interests and big business taking over the US political system to a degree where it is inevitable democracy will become obsolete and ruin the entire system of American government? Dr. Matthis Rath of the Dr. Rath Research Institute argues social and political life in America has been radicalized and polarized by corporations who fund politics to fit their interest, much like monopolies did in pre-WWII Germany.
