This was a class project designed to educate Americans about various ways negative political ads are made by US political candidates. These videos try to highlight the simple editing techniques used by political campaigns to create negative or misleading 30 second political ads. This includes the use of video manipulation, soundbites, voice-overs, graphics, photo bias, threatening music, and out of context statements. The news media constantly discusses negative advertising and its impact on American voters yet seldom educates people about the ways these ads are made. We believe if the news media educated the public about the comical ways these videos are produced, it would make their impact become irrelevant.
